ABB Group Job Description:
- Acting as a Technical Design specialist or adviser to management. Reviewing complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance
- Reviewing, adjusts design as necessary based on output of design, reviewing design verification. Using advanced techniques to modify or extend theories and practices and disciplines to complete assignments
- Supporting contract managers in issuing claims (new scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications etc.). Creating and implementing strategies for risk and opportunity management in one’s projects
- Identifying and managing contract risks taking preventive/corrective action to resolve any contract/quality/program/cost issues
- Interacting with the supply chain function and reviews vendor documentation for non-standard materials and equipment. Providing technical evaluation of supplier’s proposals
- Cultivating a network of design professionals within and outside one’s business unit. Engaging in conferences pertaining to engineering design tools and processes, shares best practices across different project team disciplines
- Acting as functional liaison between project team disciplines. Creating standard processes and tools to promote the reuse of technical solutions, innovation and productivity in the design team
- Developing and /or recommending quality improvements to engineering processes and tools. Developing and coaching project team colleagues, provides instruction and direction with managing small team of designers on projects
Your background
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in substation automation (communication design and testing on Modbus, profibus, ethernet protocols such as IEC61850)
- Good experience in LV (Low Voltage) components communication testing such as ACBs, MCCBs, Motor protection relays, numerical protection relays, etc
