Coordinate with Construction Branch in providing detailed review of plans and specifications prior to advertising to detect errors, omissions, conflicts, etc., pertaining to constructability and site conditions.
Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty and requirements of assignments.
Resolves technical problems encountered in planning stages or during the progress of design.
Coordinate with reach back districts to solve or mitigate project design issues and resolve issues between the engineering organizations.
Coordinate proposed changes in Project Management Plans (PMP) with the Chief and others, continuing review of all engineering stages, to identify major problems and take timely action to ensure that management objectives are met.
Advise the Construction Branch on all design features of projects, estimated costs, and progress of design, pertinent to Engineering Branch for planning purposes.
Establish policies and guides for administration of the engineering program.
