Tenneco Job Description:
The Designer is responsible for aiding engineers in assuring the consistency of 3d Parametric model, Sheetmetal, Surface, drafting practice and formats on part prints issued to manufacturing locations, and on prints issued to customers.
The Designer is responsible for developing designs and drawings for various products, working from CAD files, 3D models or actual parts. The Designer must be able to use
GD&T standards. The Designer is responsible for maintaining and updating the design standards.
Work output is generally detailed part drawings for prototype and production parts.
3D models and tooling and process drawings may also be the responsibility of the Designer.
The Designer is responsible for providing designs and drawings that meet customer requirements and can be manufactured.
Technical Knowledge
Heatshield/Gasket Design: Heatshield, Seal & Gasket Nomenclature, Design Standards, Working Knowledge of the Product Design Process
Engineering Drawings: Geometric Tolerancing, Control Characteristics, Print Formats
Engineering System Workflow: Data Management Systems
Tooling Design: Understanding of Compression forming Tooling.
