Redaptive is looking for a self-motivated, passionate, and collaborative Energy Engineer to work closely with our growing team based in the US & India. The Energy Engineer will collaborate with multiple teams such as the Customer Success, Product Team, Technical Solutions Engineering, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence and Business Development teams. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can make the “gray area” his/her ally, and leverage his/her judgement to make decisions and display empathy and resilience.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop scalable models/tools to compute energy savings from energy conservation measures related to Heating Ventilation and Cooling (HVAC) systems, Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Control Strategies.
- Actively participate in the execution of M&V plans in support of the M&V team to ensure the verification and reporting are aligned with customer expectations and requirements
- Collect data and perform analyses on energy management and building automation systems
- Automate quality control reviews for savings calculations.
- Compile and analyze historical ECM performance data to support M&V, sales, and engineering teams.
- New ECM identification, algorithm/logic development and application with proof of concept using electrical meter data.
- Diagnose HVAC and building system performance issues using interval kW data (asset level and whole building level data).
- Design, implement, and own new scalable solutions based on business requirements and corporate goals.
- Translate complicated ideas into a simplified language that everyone in their group can understand.
- Strive to identify improvements required in the existing process and collaborate with team members for implementation of few ideas.
- Additional duties as required (Support other technical groups as time allows).
- Typical working hours will be 11:30 am –8:30 pm IST to provide requisite overlap with our US counterparts.
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Must-Have Skills:
- Bachelors in an engineering field (preferably Mechanical/Industrial engineering), but other technical areas of study with strong experience will be considered.
- A good understanding of international HVAC/Indoor Thermal Comfort/Energy Efficiency and other relevant standards (e.g., ASHRAE 90.1 and ASHRAE 55)
- Extensive and deep knowledge of building science and energy efficiency with a proven ability to apply domain knowledge in identifying new opportunities in C&I sector
- Must be comfortable handling and organizing large quantities of information.
- 3+ years’ experience creating energy models (ex. Bin Method).
- Intermediate-advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Comfortable with flexible working hours.
- Intermediate-advanced knowledge of Python
- 5 years of experience in Building Energy Efficiency/Facility Optimization/Facility Management
- Ability to develop algorithms leveraging automation to support energy calculations o Experience and knowledge of building performance simulation tools (IES-VE, Trane Trace, eQuest) data analysis tools, knowledge of languages like R and SQL will be a distinctive advantage
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP), or similar certification is preferred.
